SUMMARY:Climate risk modelling – technical briefing
DESCRIPTION:Predicting extreme weather events and climate risk makes planning for business particularly difficult. \nAt this seminar we bring together business executives with climate change scientists to help improve the dialogue between them\, to help businesses articulate what they need from the science to aid their business decisions\, and for the scientists to help businesses understand the risks that they face and to provide information and data in formats that businesses can readily consume. \nParticipants will include Chief Risk Officers as well as non-executive directors who sit on Risk and Audit Committees.

SUMMARY:Integrating climate change issues into listed real estate portfolios
DESCRIPTION:FTSE Russell has licensed to BNP Paribas Asset Management the newly created FTSE EPRA Nareit Green Index Series for their inaugural green real estate ETF. The ETF is tracking the FTSE EPRA Nareit Developed Europe ex UK Green Index. \nThe real estate sector currently accounts for more than one-quarter of global carbon emissions. According to UN estimates\, buildings account for over half of global electricity usage and c. 28% of global carbon emissions. There is also evidence linking better environmental performance to higher asset values\, higher occupancy rates\, higher rental yield and lower operating costs. \nReal estate investing has historically lacked the appropriate tools to allow investors to assess their exposure to climate risk and to integrate it effectively in their investment strategies. \nTo help address this gap\, the FTSE EPRA Nareit Green Indexes have been designed to allow investors to identify real estate companies with strong sustainability performance. \nThese indexes are a sustainability-focused extension to the FTSE EPRA Nareit Global Real Estate Index Series\, with approximately US$341billion of assets tracking this leading series of listed real estate benchmarks. \nJoin experts from FTSE Russell and BNP Paribas Asset Management as they discuss the characteristics of the FTSE EPRA Nareit Green Index and integrating climate risk into listed real estate portfolios. \n*** Please note that this webinar is addressed exclusively to professional/institutional investors in Europe and/or jurisdictions where BNP Paribas AM’s products are approved for distribution. ***
