SUMMARY:Launch of new guidance: How to use the CDSB Framework for climate-related disclosure?
DESCRIPTION:In response to continued demand for more practical guidance on how to report climate-related information useful to investors\, the Climate Disclosure Standards Board is launching an application guidance for climate-related disclosures. \n\n\nThe CDSB Framework application guidance for climate-related disclosure has been produced to assist companies in the disclosure of material climate-related information in the mainstream report. It is designed to complement the CDSB Framework and other global frameworks\, codes and recommendations. \n\n\nBy attending this event you will gain a deeper understanding of:   \n\n\n\n\n\nKey characteristics of climate change that are important for companies to properly comprehend and consider; \nResources for preparing effective climate disclosures;  \nChecklists and tips for disclosing decision-useful information in the mainstream report; and \nExamples of good practice. \n\nThis event will be held twice to accommodate multiple time zones.

SUMMARY:Climate Risk & Opportunity: Aligning with a low carbon economy
DESCRIPTION:As the world struggles to find a new normal\, governments and companies are under even greater pressure to demonstrate climate resilience by prioritising climate related risks and opportunities. The FCA is proposing a rule that would require all premium listed companies to comply with the recommendations of the 2017 Financial Stability Board’s Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations or explain why not. The rule takes effects for accounting periods beginning on or after 1st January 2021. This means that companies will have to become increasingly forward-looking as they face increased scrutiny from investors and regulators. \nThis webinar will cover three main topics related to climate change performance: \n\nCarbon footrpinting: Systems that provide robust reporting of climate change performance to key stakeholders on an ongoing basis. This should include a materiality assessment of wider value chain GHG emissions.\nTargets and abatement: Setting credible reduction targets including science-based targets (generally using the Science-Based Target Initiative’s (SBTi) guidelines which maps out a gross emissions reduction pathway for companies & sectors)\, and net-zero target\, which combines gross reductions with offsetting solutions.\nClimate resilience: Climate scenario analysis and TCFD response.
