SUMMARY:London Climate Action Week
DESCRIPTION:London Climate Action Week (LCAW) is an annual event bringing together world leading array of climate professionals and communities. \nLCAW creates space for London’s world leading array of climate professionals to come together to find solutions to climate change. \nIn doing so\, we are creating an ambitious and lively climate cluster to tackle climate issues at LCAW and throughout the year. Climate change is a systemic challenge requiring all sectors and disciplines to work more closely together to develop and unleash innovative solutions. \nWe are all increasingly aware of the urgency of the need for climate action. Climate change is an existential threat\, requiring us all to act. At LCAW we acknowledge this and welcome a diversity of perspectives and experiences of Londoners. \nAs events in 2020 are teaching us\, we must navigate the complexity of challenges that threaten our economic and societal resilience; acknowledging the need forge a just transition to a net zero future that embraces diversity and difference and plays its part in tackling disadvantage and division. \nAs many Londoners have international heritage\, connections and experience LCAW has a global perspective. LCAW includes culturally rich events and initiatives with impacts and outcomes felt far beyond London’s geographic boundaries. \nLondon Climate Action Week 2020 (14-20 November) builds on the momentum of LCAW 2019 and July’s LCAW 2020 digital. We will convene communities and citizens from across London. LCAW 2020 aims to be a unifying moment shaping a whole of society response to the climate emergency. \nTogether\, London’s cultural institutions\, policy-makers\, professionals\, communities\, faith leadership\, academics and researchers will explore new solutions to transition to an equitable net zero carbon world.
