This report provides an annual snapshot on the alignment with the Recommendations across sectors in Australia likely to be highly impacted. This report is intended to provide companies, regulators, investors, and stakeholders of all types with an understanding of the current state of Australian climate risk reporting. It also offers insights into the differences in reporting across sectors, and suggests areas of improvement, in the quality and coverage of climate risk disclosures.

Created by the Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), the TCFD Good Practice Handbook offers real-world examples of TCFD aligned disclosures in mainstream reports across many G20 countries. Striking a balance between financial and non-financial examples, the masterclass will help you understand how organisations in your industry are implementing the TCFD recommendations and provide insight into what good practice looks like.

This report represents a high-level summary in a plain-English format of the detailed legal analysis contained in four country papers produced by the CCLI on directors’ duties and climate risk in Australia, Canada, South Africa and the UK. The analysis is undertaken at a high level, focusing on areas of commonality, and does not purport to provide a comparative or exhaustive examination of the relevant laws in the four jurisdictions. It provides an overview of the conclusions that are substantively mirrored across each jurisdiction and identifies material divergences.

The purpose of this report is to provide a progress assessment on banking sector disclosures specifically, considering the critical role that banks need to play as enablers of capital to fund the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Investment to support corporate activities to address climate change (green investment) using the information disclosed is expected to increase, along with the future progress of disclosure. In doing so, it is important that investors and other stakeholders appropriately evaluate and utilize information disclosed by companies for their investment decisions.

Following this line of thought, the Japan TCFD Consortium has received inputs and conducted discussions with members through its steering committee and information utilization working group, and have prepared the “Green Investment Guidance” which provides commentaries on perspectives needed by investors and other stakeholders when understanding the information disclosed based on the TCFD recommendations.

By offering how-to guidance, this publication aims to help companies enhance the robustness, consistency, comparability, and utility of TCFD implementation and reporting through SASB and CDSB’s market-tested frameworks, standards and resources. Regardless of whether an organization has a sophisticated approach to managing climate risks and opportunities or is just getting started, it can use this guidance to move forward in supporting improved decision-making, enhanced market resilience, and more sustainable economic growth. This guidance was translated by EY Japan.

The report has been developed by members of the Investor Leadership Network (ILN), a coalition of leading pension funds and asset managers. The report offers a unique and practical “behind the scenes” look at what major financial organizations learned through implementing the TCFD recommendations and working to incorporate climate change into their organizations. The report shares members’ experiences, and lessons learned implementing the (TCFD) recommendations. It details the diverse approaches taken, the challenges faced, and the reasons behind the choices made.

Created by the Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Association (SASB), the TCFD Good Practice Handbook identifies good practices in implementing the TCFD recommendations. The examples are drawn from across the G20 to cover multiple jurisdictions and a diversity of practices in making the 11 TCFD recommended disclosures across the four core elements of governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics and targets. The examples contained in this handbook are also provided for capacity development purposes and to aid in making the TCFD disclosures in the mainstream report. We offer these in response to the common question; What does good practice on TCFD disclosure look like, and which company reports can we look at?

A4S have launched these practical examples to show how organizations have started to implement the Recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD).

The examples from Unilever and Tesco show how the results from scenario analysis were able to inform decisions within their respective organizations.

In its TCFD think tank, the GSFCG seeks to answer those questions in cooperation with Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, PwC Germany, d-fine and right. based on science. Four workshops with selected practitioners from the financial sector helped to develop an in-depth understanding of the implementation of the TCFD recommendations.

The knowledge gained is now available to the interested public, in particular financial institutions, in the form of short briefs. They are tailored to practical needs show that new structures are needed, that a multi-level approach should be pursued and that expertise needs to be built up in specialist fields such as physical effects of the climate crisis.

The TCFD Chemical Sector Preparer Forum is a collaboration between AkzoNobel, BASF, DSM, Solvay, Sumitomo Chemical Company, Limited and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). The Forum’s aim is to advance the implementation of the recommendations of the TCFD by reviewing members’ current climate-related financial disclosures, identifying examples of disclosure practice that are consistent with the TCFD’s recommendations, and considering how disclosures might evolve over the TCFD’s “implementation path”. The aim of this report is to provide a snapshot, including examples, of how Forum member companies are currently providing effective climate-related financial disclosures.
